I am a climate scientist and glaciologist.

I study the interactions between the climate, the cryosphere, and societies.

My research seeks to understand (1) the drivers and timescales of ice sheet change and (2) how climate and societies will be affected by glacier change.

I am a postdoctoral fellow at the Georgia Institute of Technology, working with Alex Robel and the GT Ice + Climate Group. Starting in July 2024, I will be an Assistant Professor at the University of Chicago’s Department of Geophysical Sciences. If you are interested in learning more about my new research group at the University of Chicago, check it out at:

I am also passionate about diversity, equity, justice, and inclusion in STEM, particularly in the geosciences, and am interested in the history of colonialism and imperialism within the sciences.

I am also drawn to the storytelling side of earth systems.

Natural systems are interesting physical systems, and the resulting behavior of these systems also affects communities around the world in different ways.  I explore these topics in both science writing and fiction.
